The RebelMouse API

The RebelMouse publishing platform is built to launch social web properties for distributed content, and ultimately convert organic visitors into loyal, lasting audiences.

For most client use cases, the entire content lifecycle, including creation, publication, distribution and optimization, occurs within RebelMouse. In certain cases, clients may seek to pull data from RebelMouse into an external environment, such as an iOS and/or Android app, a separate web-property, a social widget, or another third-party environment.

Depending of the end-goal, clients seeking to source content and/or metadata from RebelMouse into an existing digital environment can leverage RebelMouse’s API to do so.

Flexible Applications and Use Cases

The RebelMouse API is a platform-agnostic, REST API that returns data in JSON format.

Regardless of whether your web and/or mobile instance is built on WordPress, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, Ruby on Rails, Python, Objective C, Java, or Swift, all use cases for content and metadata ingestion are universally supported.

Mobile Apps

While RebelMouse can design and develop custom mobile apps, many clients may already have an existing iOS and/or Android app that they would like to infuse with content being created and produced within the RebelMouse platform. Mobile developers can leverage our API to deliver a custom presentation of metadata stored in the RebelMouse database.

Custom Front-End Implementations

Clients may also want to use RebelMouse as their publishing back-end, while leveraging a custom front-end that is not powered by RebelMouse. Through our API, clients can make API calls to source and feed content metadata into their custom front-end web solution.

Social Widgets

Clients may also utilize certain social features (aggregation, sharing) of RebelMouse without leveraging the full publishing platform. Creating custom social widgets within a web property can be achieved by calling our API for the required metadata.

Content Metadata

Our API provides metadata for content published on a RebelMouse-powered property, including (but not limited to) the following metadata types:

  • Title:
